Role Summary
Assists in the preparation and conduct of Quality Assurance (QA)
testing of new or modified applications/systems across multiple
computing environments (e.g., host based, distributed systems, client
server). Participates in the analysis and development of new or
revised QA procedures and processes. Assists in the preparation and
conduct of QA reviews and the development of test plans and test
scripts. Provides help desk support to client and IT technical staff
in resolving QA process or procedure questions and required
documentation. Participates in the review of QA procedures and
processes and the development of QA metrics for assessing the quality
delivered application software or systems. Assists in design and
implementation of QA software and systems and the development of
effective testing plans through consultation with clients and IT
technical staff. Participates in the development of special testing
requirements and procedures and in the review of new or modified QA
software. May implement modifications to QA software. Highly
skilled. Bachelor degree in Computer Science or a related discipline
and at least two, typically five or more years experience in a systems
quality environment, or an equivalent combination of education and
work experience. Requires a broad knowledge experience with automated
testing and modeling tools, and change management and test case
generation techniques.
Major Duties
Test planning of high, medium and low complexity of test scenarios
Analyze requirements for projects and organize and develop detailed
comprehensive plans.
Test executions of high, medium and low complexity of test scenarios
Defect Management throughout various phases of testing
Provide day-to-day management of project with regular status reports,
running and documenting project review meetings as needed.
Preparing test plan/strategies
Perform test plan/strategy walkthroughs with project team and matrix partners
Prepares scripts and matches data to scripts
Identify improvement opportunities that reduce defects in production
and increase efficiency and quality.
Qualifications:
Knowledge of the project management lifecycle, especially the Design,
Construct and Testing sub-phases
Experience with Testing sub-phase deliverables (QA test strategy, test
plans, scripts, data strategies, etc.)
Healthcare experience a plus; CIGNA experience ideal
Demonstrated ability to assess existing testing processes and make
improvements to achieve efficiencies
Ability to set clear expectations both within and outside of the project team
Takes personal accountability for the results of the testing efforts
produced by the organization
Possesses strong technical skills/aptitude that can be applied to
understand system specifications and translate these into
comprehensive test strategies and functional scripts
Strong business expertise that can be leveraged to effectively
communicate with a variety of partners in highly matrixed testing
organization, including management
Excellent QA/System testing discipline, understanding various phases
and types of testing
Experience with Mercury Quality Center test management tool or other
comparable testing management tools
Ability to manage multiple streams of activity to achieve objectives
Collaborative, team-oriented, results driven
Strong experience in query tools (i.e., SQL, Oracle PL/SQL, Toad) and
Microsoft tool suite (Excel, PPT, Project and Word) preferred
Experience with testing automation tools preferred
Bachelors degree in Computer Science or related discipline or at least
2 years related experience on integrated system project development
teams
