Job Description:
One of my clients in DC is looking for a WCMS Lead Business Analyst for a 12+ month project. My client is planning to overhaul its external Website (and the underlying Web Content Management System - WCMS) as part of an overall Web Program to create a more strategic communications channel and knowledge sharing tool. The first key element of the overhaul is restructuring the traditional content publishing process from a departmental, site-centric way of working to a content-centric, database-driven approach. The second element is incorporating technological advances (such as social media) to make the site more interactive, collaborative and community-oriented.
Successful implementation of the new external Website requires an extensive and detailed requirements definition exercise where functional and non-functional requirements are (a) aligned with stakeholder needs and market best practices, (b) documented through formal project artifacts such as wireframes, information architectures, etc. and (c) continuously refreshed to ensure relevance and maximize business value.
Responsibilities:
- Create business requirements definition roadmap and associated detailed project plan (including resource needs and milestones)
- Provide consultation and best practices related to requirements. Provide input (based on business requirements) on proposed technical requirements including CMS, CDA, publishing, storage and integration with bank systems & services
- Engage in stakeholder sessions to capture business and technical requirements
- Ensure that requirements are captured in adequate detail and are aligned with stakeholder needs
- Provide technical understanding regarding current technologies and capabilities
Skills:
- At least ten years of experience in software architecture, design, and development, with at least eight years of this experience related to content management & WCMS technologies
- Substantive experience in working with online media assets (including multimedia)
- Strong user experience perspective
- Must be experienced in the evaluation and selection of WCMS tools and technologies for a variety of business clients
- Extensive experience in J2EE application frameworks
- Expertise in WCMS analytics & reporting, complemented by some knowledge of data warehousing/BI and data visualization
- Knowledge of WCMS application and infrastructure scaling (including capacity sizing)
- Experienced in agile-based WCMS delivery methodologies.
- Minimum Bachelor's degree and 10 + years of experience
- Experience working with an enterprise IT unit or department
- Good understanding of data modeling and relational databases
- Good understanding of Web application servers
- Demonstrated focus on using design documentation and software quality assurance methods
- Ability to work and produce required results without close supervision preferred
- Good client and stakeholder relationship management skills
- Ability to work capably under stress and to juggle multiple tasks within tight deadlines
- Strong diplomatic, interpersonal and teamwork skills, particularly in a multicultural environment
