Head of Industry Sales - Gurgaon



Position based in Gurgaon, India.

This is an opportunity to join a growing team of experienced, high achieving senior sales people. You will lead the development of the business within the Travel industry and the cross functional team dedicated to it. Working in Google's Direct Sales Organization, you will have the opportunity to use your comprehensive Travel industry knowledge and contacts to develop prospects and grow revenue for Google's advertising products.

Using your prospecting and analytical skills you will develop the Travel, Finance, retail or Technology Industry business plans and set sales targets. Additionally, you will use your leadership and business development skills to close new business, grow existing business and work with the Industry Marketing team to direct the sales team's focus through research, market analysis and collateral development.

The ability to work/interface with all areas of the business is essential in achieving your sales objectives within this vertical category. Presentation and communication skills at a senior level are essential to be successful in this role.

Responsibilities:
  • Work proactively as part of the Senior Sales Management team.
  • Manage and grow revenue.
  • Ensure the efficient running of the Account Management team.
  • Educate and evangelize the industry.
  • Represent Google at sector-targeted events and associations.
  • Build and solidify senior relationships with top industry-specific direct advertisers and agencies.
  • Develop and evolve best practices for selling (i.e. custom analytics, market snapshot, competitive benchmarking).
  • Work with marketing to develop appropriate collateral.
  • Frequent travel around the region as necessary to meet with customers. Occasional travel to Mountain View, CA.
Requirements:
  • University degree or equivalent; MBA preferred.
  • Minimum 10 years' professional experience with 7 years within a chosen vertical.
  • Experience of selling/marketing at the most senior level.
  • Developed analytical skills.
  • Previous media experience essential.
  • Deep cross-functional knowledge of sales, operations and management.
  • Strategic vision for industry growth to meet Google's forward strategy.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Confident, competitive, thorough and tenacious attitude.
  • Well-developed active listening skills.
