Sr. BA, must have six sigma cert and local

Location: Haven, CT (Locals only)

Duration: 3-4 Months possibility of extending.

 

This position has a strong emphasis on Business Process Improvement and the ideal candidate would have some Lean Six Sigma experience.

General Purpose
Perform business process analysis and testing to support information technology solutions for use in administrative areas of the University. Define end-user requirements, define application functionality, lead cross-team testing and implementation activities, and coordinate quality assurance activities.

Essential duties of position
1. Scope and plan projects. Develop project charters by collaborating with process owners to clarify scope, measurable outcomes, and project deliverables.
2. Document as is and to be business processes using standard process modeling tools. Identify opportunities to streamline business processes.
3. Manage the development of functional specifications by collaborating with process owners; gathering business requirements; creating functional specifications; and identifying, documenting, and resolving design issues.
4. Compare functional specifications to functionality in commercial off-the-shelf software to identify appropriate matches.
5. Manage the testing and quality assurance process. Collaborate with developers and end-users to insure that application functionality meets client needs, test solutions, problem-solve issues, coordinate enhancements. Lead the quality assurance activities for applications, including creation and execution of test plans, coordination of cross-team testing activities, and communication of test results.
6. Assist with development and delivery of training to end users.
7. Assist with communication planning/delivery and departmental readiness planning.
8. Assist project leadership with development and maintenance of project plans.
9. Develop and support ad-hoc reports as needed to support other duties, using reporting and query tools.

Experience and training
1. Bachelors degree.
2. 5+ years of experience with systems development and experience with user-centered needs analysis.
3. Experience with implementation of Human Resource applications.
4. Experience using reporting tools based on SQL programming or multi-dimensional interactive environments, preferably Oracle and Hyperion.
5. Experience using desktop applications, including MS Project, Excel and Word.
6. Preferred: experience in an Higher Education environment
7. Preferred: experience with the Oracle eBusiness Suite
