The Microsoft Partner Program (MSPP) represents the value and promise of
partnering with Microsoft. It is the largest, and best, partner program in
the industry with 400,000 partners worldwide - from our largest to our
smallest partners. We are seeking a senior thought leader to join the team
and own responsibility for end-to-end policy management, including
cataloging and prioritizing MSPP policies, establishing and running an MSPP
Policy Council and planning and implementing new program policies and
changes.

Job Purpose/Overview:

In this role, the ideal candidate will be accountable for the end-to-end
policy management for the Microsoft Partner Program. This role will drive
business excellence, build processes that ensure the business has been built
to last, and help manage change to deliver a smooth partner experience as
program enhancements are made. This role will interact with and influence
stakeholders from across Microsoft, including the worldwide partner group,
product groups, sales, operations, IT, segment teams, et al, to gather
requirements and information about their requirements, as well as to ensure
cross group alignment.

Key Responsibilities include:

* Create and be accountable for end-to-end policy management process
governing the Microsoft Partner Program
* Establish a clear picture of the MSPP policy landscape by performing
a policy audit and identifying, inventorying and cataloging all MSPP
policies and business rules. Document cost, partner satisfaction impact and
revenue implications for each policy
* Create a framework that prioritizes program policies based on the
cost, CPE impact and revenue implications each policy. Organize and conduct
prioritization meetings with key stakeholders to drive buy-in for
methodology and to ensure alignment of priorities
* Define and document the policies, processes and business rules for
upcoming program changes
* Establish and govern an MSPP Policy Council virtual team comprised
of individuals from across Microsoft that will ensure alignment across
groups, be responsible for executing transition plans, and be accountable
for implementing program changes
* Define and drive the creation of tools and resources necessary to
support the effective management of MSPPP policies and business rules on an
ongoing basis

Basic Qualifications include:

* 8-10 years of experience
* Bachelors Degree
* Prior experience creating and managing business and partner policies
* 6 or more years of project management experience

Preferred Qualifications:

* Strong project management and negotiation skills while working
within established business priorities and constraints.
* Oral and written communication skills, including slide concept
creation, requirements documents and presentation building.
* Able to translate and articulate complex ideas and processes in
simple diagrams and presentations.
* Strong conviction and determination and be able to be able to
influence others, including those in other organizations outside of the
Partner Program team.
* Ability to manage conflict and drive agreement on decisions for
which conflicting opinions and input exist.
* Excellent analytical, problem resolution, and decision making
skills.
* Proven experience in effecting change, driving institutional change
through effective cross group collaboration and group evangelization.
* Able to drive multiple concurrent projects from end-to-end by
liaising with teams from across Microsoft (Worldwide Partner Group, product
groups, segment teams, operations, and IT) and pro-actively identify risks
and dependencies with these teams.
* Thorough understanding of marketing and operational concepts.
* Adaptability, flexibility and the ability to "do the right thing"
under extreme stress and tight deadlines are a must.
* Familiarity with principles and concepts of Six Sigma or a Six Sigma
certification are a plus.
