Description: Senior Mobile Platform Developer - C#.net/VB.net/winforms/Oracle/SQL Cuffley, Hertfordshire Salary of £30-33k + benefits In order to implement business strategy the IT department are required to offer rapid internal development services to support business growth. Therefore Everest has invested heavily in providing a high quality internal software development function within IT and require a Senior Mobile Platform Developer with experience in C#, .net and VB.NET (VB6). This role will develop software solutions for the.net platform using C# as the primary language. The initial focus will involve a new PDA/Phone.net compact framework client that interacts with our Enterprise Oracle CRM system via a sync Server. In addition to new.net projects we have several VB6 systems used on laptops by over 600 users. These systems allow accurate sizing, pricing, discounting and registration with minimal effort. As part of the role these existing VB6 systems will be evaluated against our new Mobile Platform Framework and either ported or replaced with new.net code or an existing library. The Mobile Platform Team which this role will be part of will concentrate on developing.net solutions on laptops and PDA/Smartphone devices using a combination of WPF, Silverlight, Win forms (PDA) where suitable. We will use small footprint databases such as Oracle Lite that will synchronise with the Oracle CRM and replace existing MS Access use. The developer role will provide an opportunity to explore new technologies from various vendors onto modern mobilised hardware.
