(JOB) MOBILE SOFTWARE ENGINEERS- Bay Area

We are the innovation arm of a global telecom looking to create novel
consumer services for the converged web, mobile and television markets.
We are looking for well-rounded developers who can create high-volume
production applications as well as rapidly develop prototypes.
We prefer individuals who have a curiosity to keep up with the latest
technology and market trends and who love to tinker and explore.
Responsibilities:
- Write server-side code for web-based applications, many also with a
mobile component.
- Software development
- Ideation resulting in new product and concept development, patents
and other innovation
- Internal/External communication
- Work closely with a cross-functional team including analysts,
designers, architects and developers, including counterparts based in
Europe.
Requirements:
- BS or MS in Computer Science or equivalent
- Minimum 2-3 years of software development experience in a Unix/Linux
environment.
- Experience developing/designin g high-volume consumer facing services
a big plus.
- Extensive experience programming in object-oriented and scripting
languages. Experience programming in Ruby/Rails and Java is desired.
- Exposure to agile development methodologies.
Additional Requirements:
- Experience in mobile application development is a plus
- Experience in RIA client technologies is a plus.
- Active user of latest web and mobile applications.
